Your Travel Experience with South American Tours DMC

You leave the hotel and drive to Cosme Velho station to take the cog railroad (*) through the Tijuca forest to the 728m high Corcovado. The train takes about 20 minutes and offers a wonderful view of the lush tropical vegetation, picturesque landscapes of the beaches and the city itself. At the top of the mountain you leave the train and after a few steps you reach the famous statue of Christ. After enjoying this breathtaking sight, you return to the base by train. Then you continue along Rio's famous beaches to the Urca district. There you will take a cable car up to the 390m high Sugar Loaf Mountain via two stations.

After descending again, the tour continues along Guanabara Bay and Flamingo Park towards the city center. Passing the financial and business center and other sights such as the Candelaria Church and Saint Sebastian Cathedral, the Lapa Arches, the Municipal Theater, the National Library, the Art Museum, you will reach the Confeitaria Colombo. The restaurant opened in 1894 and is part of Brazilian history. The tour ends at the Sambadrome, the place where Rio's world-famous carnival is celebrated every year.

*Subject to change. Alternatively, another equivalent restaurant, such as Casa Cavé or Amarelinho, can be visited.

**Note: (*) In the exceptional case that the train does not run, the outward and return journey will instead be made by vans authorized by the city administration from/to the Largo do Machado parking lot.
