Short City Tour in Puerto Montt
Before you say goodbye to the lake region and the volcanoes today, you will experience Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt.
In Puerto Varas, also known as the “City of Roses”, German traditions and Chilean culture coexist. The town's wooden architecture, gastronomy and arts and crafts are particularly noteworthy. You will visit the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús church (panoramic view) and the Avenida Vicente Pérez Rosales, which runs along the city's waterfront promenade.
The journey continues towards Puerto Montt. The town lives mainly from its important port, salmon farming and forestry. Puerto Montt Cathedral is considered to be the oldest building in the entire region.
From a vantage point high above the town, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the wide bay of Reloncaví as far as Isla Tenglo and the strait of the same name. You will then drive to the “Angelmó” fish market, a picturesque place where you can observe the work of the fishermen and the artisan market, which offers a wide range of handicrafts made of copper, wool, wood and lapis lazuli.
**Note: The opening hours of the stores in the city are from approx. 09:30 to approx. 18:00. Depending on flight connections, the city tour may take place on day 12 of the round trip.
Afterwards transfer to Puerto Montt airport.
