You will be picked up from your hotel in Salta and take national road 68 towards Cafayate, one of the most beautiful country roads in Argentina.
You drive through the Lerma Valley with its small hills and plains where tobacco, alfalfa, corn and other cereals are grown. The beautiful La Quebrada de las Conchas gorge begins in the small town of Alemanía. With a length of 83 km, this geological wonder impresses with the colors of the hills and the amazing shapes created by thousands of years of wind and water erosion. The amphitheater, the Devil's Throat, the obelisk, the toad, the bishop, the castles and the viewpoint with the three crosses are the most famous attractions, but every other part of this journey is also worth a visit.
The arrival in Cafayate is heralded by the sight of the first vineyards, a growing area for the famous wines of Salta. In recent decades, winegrowers have cultivated Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and other red grape varieties in addition to the typical Salta Torrontes. Large and small wineries populate the entire area, and the excursion includes a visit to one of these wineries. After lunch (not included in the price), there is time for a stroll through the town and then you return the same way. The view is not the same, however, as the evening lights illuminate the reddish landscape of La Quebrada de las Conchas.
