You will be picked up from your hotel and drive south into the highlands (Puna) to admire the unique vegetation and wildlife as well as lagoons and the salt desert. You will first visit the Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons, which delight travelers with a beautiful mountain panorama and a large flamingo population. You will then visit the Atacama salt desert, the largest of its kind in Chile. It is located in the middle of a rugged landscape and its surface impresses with its diverse colors and bizarre formations. The core of the salt desert is rich in lithium, potassium, magnesium and boron. Finally, you will drive to the Chaxa Lagoon, which is located in the salt desert. The high salinity of the water leads to the growth of interesting plants at the edge of the lagoon and it is an ideal place to observe flamingos.
