Today's program includes a drive through the spectacular canyon landscape of the Quebrada de Humahuaca. Experience the fascinating play of colors in the rocky landscape. Depending on the position of the sun and the mineral composition of the rock, it glows red, black, green or purple. The Quebrada de Humahuaca has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its colorful layers of rock.
In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel in Purmamarca and drive north.
The first stop is in Tilcara, where you will visit the famous archaeological site of pre-Inca origin called Pucará. After crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, you will continue to Uquía, whose chapel is one of the most beautiful in the region. The end point of the gorge is the old town of Humahuaca with its beautiful village church. The town of Humahuaca is the highest point on this trip, 3,000 m above sea level. Here you have the opportunity to enjoy the special atmosphere of the place before heading south again to Salta.
