Visit the train cemetery in the southwest of the city of Uyuni. At the cemetery, you can marvel at a large number of antique steam locomotives and railroad carriages from the early days of the railroad, which were mainly built in France and England.
The journey continues to Colchani. The inhabitants of the area extract salt with picks, axes and shovels to earn a living.
You will also get to know the so-called “water eyes”; holes in the salt plain in which the salt-enriched water below the surface bubbles to the surface.
Visit the island of Incahuasi, which is known for its giant cacti. This island was formed from an ancient volcano that extends into the salt desert. You will have the opportunity to observe vizcachas sunbathing. Lunch is included.
Return to Colchani and overnight stay in a salt hotel.
