After arriving in Lima, you will first visit the colonial city center with the Plaza de Armas, where the government palace, the city hall, the archiepiscopal palace and the cathedral are located, to name just the most magnificent buildings in this historic square.
The tour continues with a visit to the San Francisco Monastery with the largest collection of religious artifacts in America. The highlight of this visit is the catacombs. You will then visit the Plaza San Martín, which has been lovingly renovated time and again after earthquakes. The tour then continues through the modern residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores and to the Pacific coast. Enjoy the wonderful view over the sea.
You will then visit the Larco Museum with the world's largest private collection of pre-Columbian art from northern Peru. Rafael Larco Herrera founded the museum on his own Chiclin sugar farm in Trujillo on July 28, 1926. In 1958, the collection was brought to Lima and opened in a colonial building in Pueblo Libre, where it can still be seen today. The collection of beautiful pre-Columbian ceramics, gold and silver pieces, a beautiful and impressive collection of textiles from the Chancay culture and an amusing collection of erotic stoneware from the Moche period comprises more than 45,000 objects.
