First you will visit Ahu Vaihu, an unrestored ahu with fallen moais located in Hanga Te'e Bay. Then you will visit another example of an unrestored ahu, Akahanga. The tomb of King Hotu Matua is believed to be here. The next stop is one of the most important sites of the Moai culture, Rano Raraku, an extinct volcano with a crater lake. The gigantic quarry where the moais were made is located here. Here you will visit 397 statues in various stages of completion. The next important point is Ahu Tongariki. A spectacular, over 200m long and restored Ahu with 15 re-erected Moais. You then drive to the east coast where “Te Pito o te Henua”, the navel of the world, is located together with Ahu Te Pito Kura. The last stop is the picturesque sandy beach of Anakena, where you have the opportunity to swim. Here you will also visit the restored Ahus Nau Nau and Ature Huke. At the end of this eventful day, you drive back to the hotel.
