Get to know the “La Concordia” market in Bogota. Enter the market hall, be surprised by the variety on offer and enjoy the different flavors. Fruit, vegetables, herbs, fish and seafood, meat and much more. Try the different fruits, fruit juices or typical snacks such as “tamal”, “lechona” and “pan de bono con avena”. Discover traditional kitchen utensils such as wooden spoons, “molinillos” (wooden spice mills), “pataconera” (hand-operated machine for roasting plantains) and “totumo”, a container made from the peel of the jícaro fruit.
Afterwards, walk through the colonial, historical center ¨La Candelaria¨. It is home to several universities, libraries and museums. Stroll through the small alleyways along the houses and churches built in Spanish colonial and baroque style. In the main square, Plaza Bolivar, you will find the statue of freedom fighter Simon Bolivar, surrounded by the cathedral, the Chapel del Sagrario, the Capitol and various government buildings. Visit the Gold Museum; with more than 38,000 exhibits, it is home to the world's most important collection of pre-Columbian gold art. Another visit is to the Botero Museum, which houses a large number of exuberant sculptures and paintings by the artist Fernando Botero. Afterwards, take the cable car up the almost 3,000-metre-high Monserrate mountain. An overwhelming view awaits you.
**Note: Snacks and fruit tasting are included. The Fast-Pass cable car tickets are included. The Gold Museum is closed on Monday, the Botero Museum is closed on Tuesday.
